A New Friend...
Before we left for Utah we knew we'd be bring back our dog Skeeter who has been living at Josh's parent's house. Funny side story about Skeeter: The week before we were leaving for Utah it was Madi's turn to say the prayer at the end of the day. She was saying a very cute prayer and then sincerely said, "And bless us that we shall get Skeeter back." It was really sweet and funny! Up until Josh graduated he had tried to bring home dog after dog, but I stayed strong and kept telling him no. Well, since we'd be bringing Skeeter back, and she does better if she has a friend to play with, he started bringing up getting another dog. I told him we could look around on KSL.com in Utah to see if anything was available, but I had two criterion: I couldn't do a puppy and it had to be free.
I think Josh was online every morning going through the ads on ksl. One morning he told me about a "schnoodle" half schnauzer/half poodle named Kaiser that was three years old and free to a good home. I looked at him online and he looked really cute. The ad said he was very friendly to children and other dogs. We contacted the owner and drove out the next day to meet him. Well, we liked him right off the bat. He was really mellow, cute, and very friendly so we took him home. Ever since we got Kaiser we've been happy. He plays really well with Skeeter and it's so nice that they can play together. Madi and Kaiser were basically inseperable once we brought him home. He likes to sleep on her bed and snuggles up to everybody.
Here is a photo of Kaiser and Skeeter playing. They are so funny to watch! Skeeter will get down on the ground most of the time so that Kaiser can reach her. Kaiser loves to grab onto her neck fat (which is what he's doing in this picture). Other times they'll be playing and Skeeter will stand over top of Kaiser and trap him underneath her. It is so funny. She plays with him like she would a puppy; she takes really good care of him.
